Living The Dream

From Park Ranger at Pearl Harbor, leading tours by boat to traveling the world as a nature photographer. Mark’s photography career has spanned for decades. The pursuit of bringing you images has awarded him with experiencing various cultures and wildlife. In 1990, Mark’s aspirations became reality when he moved to Hawaii, a place that continues to be one of the places he enjoys photography and surfing amidst the remarkable waves. Marks passion for photography blossomed when he moved here, during his tenure at the Honolulu Museum of Arts, a period after which he had also served as a park ranger for the National Park Service at Pear Harbor at the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. During his time as a National Park ranger, he guided about 550,000 visitors to the Arizona Memorial on his tours. As a park ranger, Mark was able to immerse himself in breathtaking wonders every day, fostering an appreciation for the country’s history, landscapes and ecosystems.

IT'S A TOUGH JOB, BUT SOMEBODY'S GOT TO DO IT:

Award winning American nature photographer, naturalist, tour leader, boat captain, Hawaii surfer and former park ranger Mark B. Coulbourne has traveled around the earth in search of the globe’s natural wonders.

Photographer and boat captain, Mark Coulbourne has escorted individuals like you along Assateague Island National Seashore in Virginia to see the many herds of wild horses, dolphins, birds and other wildlife since 2001 when he started this nature tour. This was his idea to access areas along the island where the wild horses live in family groups. Assateague Island has about 300 wild horses on the island, Mark has some of the most unique photographs you will ever see of the wild horses. He's been capturing images of the horses and wildlife here since he started the tour in 2001. Mark is a Chincoteague Island native. His family has lived on the island since the 1820's. Mark was featured on the Good Morning America show.
